From first phototo final file
Every Nikola Labs project follows the same path: understand the requirement, scan, process, model and deliver. Here is what happens at each step, and what you can expect.
At a glance
- Photos
- Drawings
- The part
- Site access
- Point cloud
- CAD model
- 2D drawings
- Inspection report
From object to answer, in five steps
Your part or plant
A worn casting, a legacy spare with no drawing, or a plant area due for revamp.
We scan it
Blue-light or laser scanners capture millions of points, in our Noida lab or on your site.
Point cloud
Scans are registered and cleaned into one accurate, measurable point cloud.
CAD model
Engineers rebuild it as native, editable CAD or a plant as-built model.
Inspection report
Compared against design, every deviation is colour-mapped and measured.
What happens at each step
What we need from you, and what you get back, from enquiry to delivery.
-
1
Share the requirement
Tell us what you need on WhatsApp, by email or through the enquiry form, which opens a WhatsApp chat with our team. Photos, drawings, the approximate size and the output you need are enough to start.
From you
- Photos or drawings
- Approximate size and quantity
- Output needed and deadline
From us
- Questions to pin down scope
- Advice on lab or on-site scanning
-
2
Scope and quote
We confirm the scanner, the method, the deliverables and the timeline, then send a quote. Plant jobs may need a short call or a site visit first.
From you
- Site access details for plant jobs
- Tolerance or inspection criteria
From us
- Written scope and quote
- Agreed deliverables and file formats
-
3
Scan in the lab or on site
Parts come to our Noida lab, or our team brings tripod, handheld or arm-based scanners to your site anywhere in India.
From you
- The part, or safe access to the site
- A contact person on site
From us
- Scanning equipment matched to the job
- Scan data captured as scheduled
-
4
Process and model
Scans are registered and cleaned into one accurate point cloud. Our engineers then build the CAD model, as-built model or drawings.
From you
- Feedback on draft models where needed
From us
- Point cloud
- CAD or as-built model
- 2D drawings

Deliver and inspect
You receive the files in the agreed formats. For inspection jobs, scan data is compared with your CAD or drawing in a colour-mapped report.
From you
- Sign-off on deliverables
From us
- Final files
- Inspection reports
- Help with follow-up questions
In our lab, or on your site
Send it to our Noida lab
Best when parts can travel. Visit us, or ship parts to Sector 10, Noida.
- Blue-light scanning in a controlled space
- Drop parts off or ship them to us
- Inspection and reverse engineering under one roof
We come to your site
Best for plants, structures and parts too heavy or critical to move.
- Tripod, handheld or arm-based scanners, chosen per job
- Scanning in live plants across India
- No need to move equipment or structures
Files your team can open
We agree the formats before work starts, so the data drops straight into your CAD, inspection or plant software.
- STEP and IGES3D CAD exchange for any CAD system
- Native CADEditable models, on request
- STLScan meshes and 3D printing
- DWG and DXF2D engineering drawings
- PDF reportsInspection, dimensional and GD&T
- Point cloudsRegistered plant and site scans
Questions about the process
Anything else, ask us on WhatsApp.
No. Photos, the approximate size and a description of what you need are enough for us to scope the job. If you have drawings, they help with inspection work.
It depends on the size of the part or plant area and the output you need. Single-part jobs are usually quicker than plant jobs. We confirm a timeline with every quote.
Yes. We scan on site anywhere in India with tripod, handheld or arm-based scanners, chosen for the job.
Typically STEP or IGES for 3D CAD, STL for meshes, DWG or DXF for drawings and PDF for reports. We agree the formats before work starts.
